The Tallahassee Irish Step Dancers are Tallahassee's first Irish
dance troupe, founded in September, 1999 by David Jones and
his wife, Shannon
O'Bryan. The company's goals are to provide an opportunity for
the community to keep the rich cultural heritage of Irish dance
alive and to provide Irish dance as entertainment for area events.
Since the company's beginning, the dancers have performed at the
Tallahassee Highland Games and Celtic Festival, the Tallahassee
Winter Celebration of Lights, the Dixie
Theatre (in Apalachicola), Monticello Opera House, North
Florida Fair, Chez Pierre, The Warehouse on Gaines Street, Maclay
School, Wakulla Library, Panama City Highland Games and a variety
of churches, weddings, retirement centers and other venues. The
dancers are often accompanied by Barley Thar. If you would like to book them
for your event, then email David or Shannon (by clicking here)
or call them at 850-894-9364.
