Majors and ProgramsThe Mathematics Department hosts Baccalaureate Degrees in Mathematics and in Actuarial Science, preparing students for mathematics-related jobs in industry, finance, insurance, government, or teaching, or for graduate school. The major options are below. B.S. in Mathematics

ResearchThe mathematics research faculty at FSU has expertise in a wide range of topics in the traditional areas of pure and applied mathematics, as well as in the interdisciplinary areas of biomathematics and financial mathematics. Advanced students may arrange Directed Individual Study (DIS) and Honors Thesis projects ("Honors in the major") with individual faculty members by contacting them directly.
