Abstract.
We review some recent advances in Teichmuller theory, namely,
some results on the behavior of Teichmuller geodesics and other
geodesic-like paths in Teichmuller space, as well as the large-scale
geometry of Teichmuller space. Our approach centers on the
relationship between Teichmuller space and its associated curve
complex, the space that encodes its important combinatorial data.
