The (21st Century) Brook
I come from haunts of coot and hern,
And once was fit for drinking
In Alfred's day. Today he'd turn
His nose up, 'cos I'm stinking.
With raw untreated sewage that
Decrepit pipes deliver,
I poison wildlife habitat,
Then foul the brimming river.
