Overview
Hello! I am a fifth year graduate student in the Department of Mathematics at Florida State University (FSU). Before this, I completed a Bachelor's in Mathematics and a Master's in Mathematics at Notre Dame University (NDU) - Lebanon.
My Research interests include Differential/Difference Algebra and Computer Algebra.
Research
- Classifying order 4 linear difference operators over C(x)
that are expressible in terms of lower order difference operators.
- Giving algorithms for solving fourth order difference equations in terms of second order equations, with applications to OEIS.
- Classifying order 3 linear difference operators over C(x)
that are expressible in terms of lower order difference operators.
- Giving an algorithm for absolute factorization of
recurrence operators and improve its efficiency, and an algorithm to solve third order
difference equations in terms of second order, similar to existing
algorithm for differential equations. Moreover, give applications to OEIS.

Projects
Erdős Data Science Bootcamp | Fake Image Detection Project https://github.com/hebabkb/FakevsReal
September 2024 - December 2024
- Used the CASIA2 Ground Truth dataset, preprocessed imbalanced data with SMOTE, and extracted features like GLCM, ELA, Wavelet Transforms, Color Histogram, and Edge Detection, optimizing for subtle differences in real vs. fake images.
- Implemented stacking classifier models with meta-learners like SVC, XGB, and LGBM, achieving 81% accuracy with 83% recall for fake images.
- Developed and deployed a web application on Hugging Face that detects manipulated or AI-generated images in real-time.
