Concavity

The black curve is f(x) as you move the point A two things happen. The dashed parabola indicates the concavity of the curve f(x) at the point A. The point B traces the second derivative function f''(x) which is graphed in red.

Sorry, the GeoGebra Applet could not be started. Please make sure that Java 1.4.2 (or later) is installed and activated. (click here to install Java now)

You can change the function f(x). Try
 f(x) = 3*sin(x)
 f(x) = x + sin(x)
