Graduate Application Requirements and Additional Information
A GPA (grade point average) of 3.0 is required in all upper-division coursework for undergraduate students.
If your native language is not English, and you have not received a degree from an institution in an English speaking country, then you must submit scores from the TOEFL, IELTS, or similar standardized test (see link below).
The minimum score on the Internet based TOEFL is 80. Area directors may prefer higher scores when evaluating applications for admission.
For more details and minimum scores for other test options, see FSU International Admissions.
All applicants apply to a single area (you will have the option of specifying a second choice for the area). Admission and funding decisions are made by areas.
Changing your area after arrival is possible but not guaranteed. Your application will need to be considered by the new area, and financial aid may not carry over. This means you should choose your area carefully according to your interests! See the websites of the five areas (Pure, Applied and Computational, Financial, Bio, Data) for information on their specific requirements and offerings.
